DESCRIPTION:Animal shelters across the country team up to host the National House Pawty fundraiser\nLive-streamed event aims to raise funds and spirits during era of social distancing \nOver 80 animal shelters and rescue organizations across the United States have joined forces to create the National House Pawty\, a livestreamed fundraiser set to take place on Facebook Saturday\, April 18\, from 6 to 9 p.m. Central Daylight Time.   The Siouxland Humane Society is happy to announce that we have joined this national pawtnership to raise funds and provide families in Siouxland with this awesome opportunity to join in the House Pawty from their own homes. \nThe event will feature a variety of entertainment ranging from interactive games to celebrity and athlete cameos to live music performances. Details of the event and participating organizations can be found here. \nBeginning April 14\, Individuals are encouraged to raise $250 for their favorite participating pet welfare organization to help event organizers reach their goal of raising $500\,000 nationally. The funds will be distributed to participating organizations that have had to cancel fundraisers and adoption events during the COVID-19 pandemic.   The shelter would love for anyone that is able\, to log on and select the Siouxland Humane Society as the beneficiary of a donation.  A donation of any amount will help the shelter to continue to provide the programs and services to those in need during this time by providing the means necessary to enable families to keep their pets in their homes during these financially difficult and uncertain times we are all facing. \nPurina\, a perennial supporter of organizations that help put people and pets together\, has stepped up as presenting sponsor of the National House Pawty.  \n“In the past month\, we’ve seen a huge increase in pet fosters and adoptions across the country\, but there is still a great need among pet welfare organizations” said Cat Small with the Purina Pet Welfare team. “At Purina\, we believe life is better when people and pets bond – even during difficult times. That’s why we’re proud to support this fundraiser and the shelters that connect people with pets.”  \nThe event traces its roots to St. Louis-based Gateway Pet Guardians. In 2016\, the organization livestreamed its first Slumber Pawty\, with volunteers spending the night in shelters to help long-term shelter pets get adopted while raising funds to support the cause of pet adoption. In 2018\, the group expanded the event to include 15 fellow shelters who livestreamed a variety of activities from shelters.      \n“We’re in the midst of a good-news/bad-news situation. But if Santa is your thing\, feel free to bring a letter for him to take to the North Pole! \nPaws N Claus is going back to just one week this year from Wednesday\, November 20th through Sunday\, November 24th. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 11th annual Quilt Auction on Thursday\, June 6th at the Sioux City Community Theatre. We are currently accepting donated quilts and will post photos of them to a Facebook 2019 Quilt Auction Photo Album for viewing prior to the auction. This event is free to the public to attend. Quilt viewing begins at 5:30pm with the auction starting at 6:30pm. Free appetizers as well as a cash bar that evening. Auction Services are being donated by Brock Auction Company out of LeMars\, Iowa.

DESCRIPTION:Get your tickets to the 2019 Pucks and Paws Event\, this year you can purchase a ticket and bring your Dog!  Tickets are $15 per adult and $5 per dog.  The Siouxland Humane Society gets to keep $5 per adult ticket and $2 per dog ticket but tickets must be purchased through the Siouxland Humane Society!  You can purchase tickets online by clicking here or at the shelter\, 1015 Tri-View Ave.  Lap Dog races will be held during an intermission\, pre-registration is not required\, the dog must be 25lbs or less to participate.
