Completed in 1999, The Siouxland Humane Society provides world-class animal care. The 12,200 sq. ft. state of the art Shelter offers housing for cats, dogs and other small animals.

The SHS is honored to have the Richard L. Robinson Memorial Garden. Funded by a generous gift from the estate of Dr. Robinson, this is a beautiful place where loved ones and beloved pets can be forever remembered.

The Siouxland Humane Society Donor Recognition Wall is located on a prominent wall in the lobby as you enter the Shelter. It highlights and recognizes the generosity and commitment of our donors

This area provides us the opportunity to meet and greet all our two and four legged friends who enter the Shelter.

“Pets of the Day” greet visitors as they visit the shelter. The main lobby features a happy dog every day, hoping to win their way into your heart and home!

“Pets of the Day” behind the glass lobby window you’ll find a fluffy feline looking to find the purrr-fect family.

Be it a new collar and leash for Fido or a new toy for Fluffy, we have a great selection of both dog and cat supplies at very low prices.

Kitty kennels shown here are raised in order to provide a better view of Fluffy.

Not a dog or cat? Here is where you will find them. From guinea pigs to gerbils, rats to rabbits, snakes to sugar gliders and everything in between!

Dog kennels were selected based on their low maintenance characteristics and organized so that Rover can be easily moved while his abode is cleaned.

Visitation rooms and the outdoor courtyard provide comfortable spaces for potential adopters and pets to get to know one another.

The outdoor courtyard provides a great interacting experience for both people and pets. Many potential adopters enjoy spending time outdoors getting to know their new pet or introducing their current pet to a potential new one.

After selecting their new best friend adopters enter this room to complete the adoption process.

All pets being surrendered start their journey here. They all immediately receive vaccinations and deworming and are checked for any health concerns so that we have healthy happy pets to adopt.

In order to help adoptable pets look their best, a fully equipped grooming room is available for volunteers and staff to utilize.

This versatile space is used in many ways, including educational community programs, meetings for outside organizations and Board of Directors meetings.

Four individual runs and a big grass area are conveniently located out back so all the dogs and puppies can romp and play and get plenty of exercise.

A large grassy fenced area allows volunteers and dogs to get out and have some real fun. What a great place to get some exercise and spend some time outdoors walking.
