Building Front
The Siouxland Humane Society provides world-class animal care. This state-of-the-art shelter includes housing for cats, dogs and small animals, exam, grooming and visitation rooms, offices, education and meeting spaces.

Memorial Garden
The SHS is honored to have the Richard L. Robinson Memorial Garden. Funded by a generous gift from the estate of Dr. Robinson, this is a beautiful place where loved ones and beloved pets can be forever remembered.

Donor Recognition Wall
The Siouxland Humane Society Donor Recognition Wall is located on a prominent wall in the lobby as you enter the Shelter. It highlights and recognizes the generosity and commitment of our donors.

Reception Area
This area provides us the opportunity to meet and greet all our two and four legged friends who enter the shelter.

Pets of the Day
Upon entering the main lobby one is greeted by the “Pets of the Day”. A featured cat and dog is on display each and every day, hoping to win their way into your heart and home!

Retail Area
Be it a new collar and leash for Fido or a new toy for Fluffy, we have a great selection of both dog and cat supplies at competitive prices.

Cat Housing
Kitty kennels shown here are raised in order to provide a better view of your new feline friend. This room also includes two additional cat condos.

Cat Visitation Room
This room provides the space for potential adopters to get to know their new feline friend.

Small Animal Housing
Not a dog or cat? Here is where you will find them. From guinea pigs to gerbils, rats to rabbits, snakes to sugar gliders and everything in between!

Dog Housing
Dog kennels were selected based on their low maintenance characteristics and organized so that Rover can be easily moved while his abode is cleaned.

Dog Visitation Rooms
Visitation rooms and the outdoor courtyard provide comfortable spaces for potential adopters and pets to get to know one another.

Outdoor Courtyard
The outdoor courtyard provides a great interacting experience for both people and pets. Many potential adopters enjoy spending time outdoors getting to know their new pet or introducing their current pet to a potential new one.

Adoption Room
After selecting their new best friend adopters enter this room to complete the adoption process.

Incoming Room
All pets being surrendered start their journey here. They all immediately receive vaccinations and deworming and are checked for any health concerns so that we have healthy happy pets to adopt.

Grooming Area
In order to help adoptable pets look their best, a fully equipped grooming room is available for volunteers and staff to utilize.

Meeting Room
This versatile space is used in many ways, including educational community programs, meetings for outside organizations and Board of Directors meetings.

Outdoor Exercise Area
Four individual runs and a big grass area are conveniently located out back so all the dogs and puppies can romp and play and get plenty of exercise.

Backyard Area
A large grassy fenced area allows volunteers and dogs to get out and have some real fun. A large shelter area provides protections from the elements as well. What a great place to get some exercise and spend some time outdoors walking.

Large Dog Play Area
Several dogs can run and play together during dog playgroups in this large fenced area that also features obstacles for dogs both big and small.

Small Dog Play Area
This play area features a playhouse that is perfect for dogs of the smaller variety to run and play.
