The Siouxland Humane Society is honored to have the Richard L. Robinson Memorial Garden. Funded by a generous gift from the estate of Dr. Robinson, this garden is a beautiful place where loved ones and beloved pets can be forever remembered.
Dr. Robinson was a longtime friend and supporter of the Siouxland Humane Society. His passion for helping animals was a gift that he extended to unlimited homeless animals throughout the years. He served on many board committees, and one of his greatest contributions to the shelter was his active involvement in the building of our new shelter in 1999, adding particular expertise to the design, layout and landscaping of the building.
The idea for an outdoor memorial garden was born out of Dr. Robinson’s love for working in his yard and being outdoors. He could often be seen riding his lawn tractor on his acreage and working with his flowers and plantings. He had a passion for keeping everything picture perfect and enjoyed his time outdoors.
This memorial garden is an exciting addition to the Humane Society because now we have a way for you to permanently honor and remember a special animal or animal lover who has touched your life. Many of us have been blessed by that special pet that comes along once in a lifetime. Some of us have a special loved one whose passion and love for animals was an inspiration to all. What a beautiful and lasting way to forever remember how they touched our lives.
